Any team that wishes to be included in the timeline and operates within the recognised universe, will be more than welcome to be added. Obvioulsy some relationship will be required. Soon Nightsquad will be updated onto the list, and hopefully ETGB and CGB should!

Now the Canadian GBs (CGB) have been added to the list!

Hello all.
Sinister, thank you for offering this wonderful oppurtunity for the ghostbusters west coast division. This is for lack of a smarter word, awesome!, this, in my opinion, will help the ghostbusters inc community become better unified. This was a great idea and I hope all the other teams join as well.
Though, the information I gave you is subject to change, but I think they are most likely correct and will stay that way.
PS- I think this thread would be cool as a sticky, since it is a never-ending timeline and such newbies have a chance to check out whats been going on and sort of learn of our progress. Oh well, just an idea, probably not a good one.

You know, the scary thing is is that after I read this thread the first time I started to compile some notes...it's obvious I'm quite fond of timelines, as they're a great way of organizing backstory. The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline isn't the first and probably won't be the last (just the first one I shared with anybody) The timeline I have in my notes is centered on GBWC (because I know it best at this point), including birthdates and history from the character profiles, but includes a few dates from the Omnibus for flavor and comparison, as well as the notes from Iain's timeline above and even some Nightsquad notes gleaned from a thread between Kingpin and Vincent Belmont on the NS board.
Once we get the West Coast up and running, I would definitely be interested in a more comprehensive project.

I've added some months into the equation, aswell as GB1 and 2, they obviously play a vital role in the timeline, as they are considered canon and truth! If someone could tell me what month it is at the start of each film, and at the end of GB1, that would be aces!
Note, I may be adding the EGB start to the list aswell.

It's Iain's list, but I wouldn't see why not.
Since the Nightsquad stories have been placed in the GBInc timeline, I just have to ask...I know the original stories as Bo wrote them tie Nightsquad's origin into the battle with Gozer...so has Nightsquad really been busting ghosts for twenty years? Good grief, that could mean that Bo and Jen could have high school age kids by now...
An alternative to get closer to "real time" would be to "retcon" the origin, untying it to the Gozer battle.
I may be kicking over a hornet's nest here, knowing how some of you hate them, but the XGB series presumably starts in September 1997. Might a retcon origin have Nightsquad started around the same time? The XGBs are all in college and Egon might decide they need the backup. Or perhaps a little later, during or shortly after "Back In The Saddle" (November 21, 1997), to reinstate Venkman, Ray, and Winston to their origin. It would also make it easier to see Egon with a teenage niece if he's a thirty-nine year old as opposed to a twenty-six year old, narrowing the age gap between Egon and his Mysterious Older Brother.
Obviously the writers and members of Nightsquad have final say on this idea. Only a suggestion.

I see where you're coming from, but umm... heh heh, Bo didn't really think about chronology when he started the NS fics... he just wanted his fics to link. It's a very confusing subject, and I don't think bo likes my timeline. Indeed it is a touchy subject, I think that in the 1st NS fic, they are teens, and in the newer ones (Shining Moment, which isn't on the list yet) they are older.
Any ideas Fritz???  IU do like the idea though, you'd just have to convince Bo and Kingpin.

Just added the NS saga to the timeline aswell as ETGB!
Extreme Ghostbusters' debut is also on there, however, due to certain problems EGB can cause, I have the following explenation: By July, the time of NS's next fic, Back In the saddle, the last EGB ep has taken place. The EGB's step down as the RGB's return. Nightsquad never went away, but chose to distance themselves from the EGBs. The EGBs still exist, and do Ghostbusting, but are a stand in team, as they have their own jobs now.

Eugh, I must admit, I think the NS timeline is somewhat confusing, and Fritz, I think your idea is excellent, it makes far more sense and the current list could then span a shorter period of time, meaning that Vincent and Jill could have some space between When Hell Becomes Full and the original Raccoon City Incident. Unfortuantly, I think it would be extremely hard to persuad Bo to change, even though by rights he'd be 40 in the lastest written story. He's big on the cosmic joke of it. I even had a small joke idea that NS got stuck in a parralel universe which moved faster, and so they spent 10 years there but didn't age a day in our universe.
