Now here's something intresting for all fanfic writers, a list of details about the different team members, however this list is outdated and has some incorrect facts:

Tha's why I plan on making a copy of this list and making some revisions, as well as mentioning those involved in creating the original list, once it's ready I'll retitle this topic and post the fact list, I'll include big and little details from the show.

That is a great list, Kingpin, and I found some of the speculations Labidolemur included fascinating. I look forward to seeing your final result.
One thing I wonder is, not knowing your personal stand on EGB, whether you would include a fact or two related to the original Ghostbusters? Combining RGB's "Brooklyn Triangle" with EGB's "The Crawler", "Sphinx", and "Back In The Saddle" we can pin down Egon and Janine's birthdays down to within a month or so...Let me know, M'kay?

Okay, Kingpin, here goes:
Facts about the original Ghostbusters established by Extreme Ghostbusters:
Winston Zeddemore: Has a sister, who apparently lives "out West", possibly near Winston in Montana ("Back In the Saddle, Part One")
Slimer: (Not a Ghostbuster, but still a major character in the cartoons): Steamed Broccholi is the one food he will not eat ("Fear Itself")
Janine Melnitz: Is a Scorpio ("The Crawler"), born somewhere between October 23-November 22. In RGB's "Brooklyn Triangle", she shows Egon her graduation picture in a yearbook dated 1977--assuming an age of 18 in 1977, she was born somewhere between October 23-November 22, 1958 (A post somewhere mentions Annie Potts' birthday as October 28, take that for what it's worth...)
Egon Spengler: First, we will assume that the events of XGB occur in 1997, the year that the show aired. In "Sphinx", Egon informs Garrett that he is thirty-nine years old. In "Back In The Saddle" Egon is celebrating a birthday, and it is mentioned that Thanksgiving is "next week". "Back In the Saddle" aired before "Sphinx", but for three reasons I place "Sphinx" first in the continuity: 1) Egon indulges in the same sort of hasty antics he tries to talk Venkman and the others out of in "Back In the Saddle" 2) Reunion of the original Ghostbusters strikes me as a very appropriate 40th birthday present. 3) "Sphinx" was produced before "Back In The Saddle". Thanksgiving was on November 28, 1997--thusly, Egon would've been born on or around November 21, 1957. (I mention November 1957 in my story "Fateful Encounter")

The subject of Ghostbuster birthdays came up on the "It's Coming Post", and I copied a some of my stuff on the subject and placed it here. I left Egon and Janine off because I covered them above...
The only official, Columbia-licensed material in this area to my knowledge is the 1989 GBI role-playing game, which simply lists the ages of the main characters, and at least three of them aren't accurate according to RGB and XGB references. As GBI presumably takes place "after" GB2, I presume these are their 1990 ages...
Dana Barrett: Age 34 (Born around 1956)
Ray Stantz: Age 37 (Born around 1953) Again, wrong. "It's About Time" establishes him as being born in 1959 (would be 31 in 1990.
Louis Tully: Age 30 (Born around 1960)
Peter Venkman: Age 36 (Born around 1954) Date is Oct.23-Nov.22, per "Lean Green Teen Machine".
Winston Zeddemore: Age 28 (Born around 1962) Has to be way off--no way Winston could have fought in Vietnam if he was this young. I'd say arbitrarily add about ten years to his age.

About an hour ago I finally excavated my collection of Now's Real Ghostbusters comics. In a couple of weeks, after I've had time to reread and take notes on them all, I plan to post a set of "comic canon" fact in this thread.
(Yeah, I need a couple of weeks. I got a job and everything...sorry...)

Dr. Peter Venkman:
RGB - Unknown.
Deleted from GB II - According to him, he's a little bit of everything. Some Irish, some German, some French, Dutch. No information was found on the Surname "Venkman", and so I believe it's fictitious. I've searched online Phone Books, and have found no listings for any "Venkmans". Also, I asked my Uncle to look into the surname "Venkman", and he told me something interesting. He believes that it's a name made up, as an inside joke. He says Venk, Vink, or Fink is some sort of foreign word. I think it may mean something like a rascal, a rodent, or a con.
Dr. Egon Spengler:
RGB - Well, we learn that in the late 17th Century, that his great-great-great-Grandfather was Eli Spengler, who lived in Lewiston, Maine (If I Were a Witch Man). On another note, in that episode, an error in continuity occurred, in which Egon incorrectly referred to Eli Spengler as his Grandma Spengler's great-great Grandfather. What Egon meant to say was his Grandpa Spengler's great-great-Grandfather. His Grandma Spengler was telling Egon about his Grandpa Spengler�s great-great-Grandfather. That was an error on the Writer's part, and I'm glad I corrected it.  And we also learn of another Ancestor, Zedekiah Spengler (Egon's Dragon).
Deleted from GB II - According to him, his ancestors came to NY from Ostrov, Eastern Poland. I've also found out that the surname "Spengler" has German origins.
Dr. Raymond Stantz:
RGB - Scottish (Bustman takes a Holiday) and Russian (Russian About).
Deleted from GB II - According to him, his great-grandparents were Swiss. He has pictures they took of the Statue of Liberty from the Boat when they arrived in NY. I've also found out that the surname "Stantz" has Swiss origins.
Winston Zeddemore:
RGB - I believe he is the reincarnation of an African Prince (Moaning Stones).
Deleted from GB II - According to him, his ancestors came to Charleston, SC, from Africa on a Ship. No information was found on the Surname "Zeddemore", and so I believe it's fictitious. I've searched online Phone Books, and have found no listings for any "Zeddemores".
Janine Melnitz:
RGB � According to Veedramon, J. Michael Stracynski has mentioned that she is of Jewish descent. I�ve searched for information on the surname, �Melnitz�, and it is indeed legitimate. I've found listings for people with that surname on Geneology pages. Unfortunately, none of my Geneology pages have any background info or origins for it. But it's probably a Jewish, German or Slavic surname.
Dana Barrett:
Deleted from GB II � According to her, her ancestors came to North America in 1620. And of course, I�m sure they came over on the Mayflower.

Ray was always called the youngest. Where did that start? Was it ever mentioned in RGB, or was it a fanfic thing?
I figured, in age from oldest to youngest, it was:

Ray
As for Janine, I don't really know. But Ray being the youngest was established in RGB, I think.

Ghostbusters International, the rulebook listed above, would lead us to believe Venkman is actually a couple years older than Egon, but take it with a grain of salt as always: it was officially licensed by Columbia, but as I've also explained some of the ages are clearly contradicted by onscreen references. Of course, even if Egon is younger than Venkman, he's a prodigy anyway--and a lot more mature in most ways, if nothing else.
I'm continuing to go through my Now comics backlog, and it's been great. Oh, the memories...
