Author How hard is it to build a Proton Pack out of Cardboard

Ok so how hard is it to do and is it ok if i use my RGB pack for refrence? Also if u have plans for a cardboard please send them to me at [email protected]

Probably not that hard. Wood is a real challenge, but with cardboard being flexible it would be easy to create some of the shapes, the only problem u might have is painting it, the paint won't look as good as it does on wood or fiberglass. I am building my proton pack partcially out of card board. I'm using the cardboard to make the boxes(Powercell,gun mount, etc.) so far its goin good.

I actually considered doing that very thing when I started building mine just a couple weeks ago. I passed on the cardboard simply because I had a bunch of Sintra PVC board leftover from another project. I purposely worked very hard at keeping the pack as light as possible just for comfort's sake. And I suppose that one made of cardboard (and some additional balsa or basswood for the compound curve areas) would be a right light thing. I'd love to see somebody do one!

i wouldnt recommend it. i used it to make some of my old pack. you'll have nasty cardboard cut lines. it just looks nasty.

if you get it wet, rains, whatever, kiss hours and hours of hard work good bye.
