What made Ghostbusters so immensely popular and Timeless? What is it that led to the creation of this website,

1984-2004, Will Bill Murray become Famous as the voice of Garfield the Cat in the upcomming Garfield Movie, like his claim to fame from SNL or from being Dr. Peter Venkman. smile

I'm sorry, but that made no sense to me. If you're saying that Murray is what made GB so awesome and so memorable...you're wrong. It was a combination of elements.

thats kinda ironic that murry is voicing garfield cos murry originally played venkman in the gb movie and lorenzo music played venkman in the rgb cartoon, music also played grefield in the garfield cartoon and garfield will now be played by murry in the garfield move (this is what i am gathering from the post as up until i read it i had no idea there was even gonna be a garfield movie)

its not the money that a film brings in its the impact on society that makes it an icon. dont forget, ghostbusters in a natural born comedy taking after several other classic shorts and series of abbot & castello, the 3 stooges, mickey mouse, etc. bringing this old style comedy and teaching the characters some new tricks and giving them new ghost hunting tools with eye boggling FX (for the 80's at least) made it popular. and now, itself is a classic.
im gone.

Ghostbusters was, when it first came out, original, fresh, funny, and with an interesting concept. It had good stars, merchandising possibilites (which it used much), it had...well...everything.

Plus, it had a really good theme song. smile
