If this assumption is soley based on Chocolate Hearts then you are dead wrong, Peter and Janine are like siblings, they will never, never be in love with each other, it's against canon facts if anything.

I also agree that there's no way Pete and Janine would ever be in love. Despite Egon having a difficult time expressing his feelings for Janine, Pete and the rest of the guys know that Egon is in love with Janine. Being that Pete and Egon are best friends and have known each other the longest Pete wouldn't do anything that he knows would hurt Egon.
If any of that made any sense, lol. If not just ignore my post, lol.

Well, I know everyone will think me insane, but not too long ago I wrote a silly little fan fiction story "An Unexpected Love on An Unexpected Holiday" that had Peter and janine falling in love. Alright, alright-so we all know Janine loves Egon and Egon may feel just the same-but it's fun to bend rules a couple of times...heh I don't know...I think possible evidence to back it up is their constant teasing and slight insults. Plus, Janine had the nerve to slap Peter's rearend in "Beneath These Streets." And even so...whatever theories we have about the Ghostbusters' personal lives, it's all harmless....

While I'm not a fan of P/J (for obvious reasons), I did read one really good one, called "Hearts and Flowers". They were under the influence of some wierd slime, and got r-e-a-l-l-y close, but not completely *there*, but they both figured it out in time. Yes, Egon found out, and upset was NOT the way to describe him, even though things were cool at the end. Peter and Janine were once described as having a sibling-like relationship, and that's when they function best.

Peter and Janine is about as freaky as the folks who want to pair Eduardo and Kylie up with one another. Eduardo and Peter are annoying men, who screw-up every thing they touch. They aren't meant to get anywhere with Janine, Kylie or any other woman on the planet. Thumbs down to pairing Peter and Janine
