Cool. Ive been a convention proponent for a while. If I can I will most likely be going to chicago. If you need any other help castewar Id be willing. It is my goal to get my website up this summer, but Id be happy to help with info ir whatever for the page you set up.

i MAY be attending chicago. if so, i'll definitely be throwing a GB room party. nothing big or wild, just a little get-together outside the con where we can show-off props & other things. BYOB

Hey guys, there also is a sci-fi and fantasy creators convention in Madison Square Garden, in New York City. I was thinking of going there with my GB uniform. Its June 27-29. The website is www.innervisioncomics.com

It sounds like a lot of you are close to and thinking about going to Chicago which is very cool. The downside is that I can only make San Diego. But, fear not, provided I don't get them back and they suck, there will be stickers.
No word as yet about who from 88mph Studios will be there.
Anybody going to SD? Anyone?

Oh, and I still recommend people check the map (see below) and find a con close to home and kick out the GBs for the other attendees. However, please let us all know so we can add it to the pile of con info.

Sorry Net, I overlooked your post (the bit about you being in SD that is - I read the part about who was going to be at the 88mph booth).
I'll have more information about SD soon, as well as a way to hook up with me and anyone else who makes it there.

I'll be at SD Comic-Con, I have a Fan Table there again this year. There will be SEVERAL GB's in full gear this year :D

So far we're looking about about 10+ at SD and at least that much in Chicago.
I won't be able to attend Chicago. A recent family emergency burned up both the time from work and plane ticket cash I'd earmarked for Chicago, so I'm here to help as best I can, but won't be able to do much hard planning (and no follow through on site).
My stickers are done by the way, but they haven't arrived yet, so I'm hoping they look alright. I mention it as it means the first GB swag for the conventions is in place. YAY!
Jeff, if you could get in touch with me, so we can hook up in SD, that'd be great.
Less than three weeks to go until SD!

I've got a question, since I don't usually go to comic conventions. Do people usually go there looking to buy stuff or just to look around and network?

Sometimes it's to buy stuff. You'll find a lot of stuff, a lot of hard to find stuff, at a con, especially big ones like this. I rarely go with something in mind, I just want to see what's out there and if I find something cool, I'll get it.
Some people network so they have people they can contact when they have something in particular they're looking for.
But to be honest, the one big reason to go is to see and be seen. A lot of people go for the costume contests, or to play in the games room. Some go to get the con exclusive toys etc.

In New York, Big Apple Anime fest will be on
Aug 29 to Sept 2. I'm going to go as a Ghostbuster.
