Today is full of Ghostbusters II montage energy.
We're Back!
By Chad Paulson on June 1, 2026
After months of hiatus, Ghostbusters.net is back online in a nascent state. I am rebooting the website after years of false starts on various web architectures and taking baby steps toward a content-focused rebuild starting with a new blog and Ghostbusters guide.
I was inspired by friends and fellow ghostheads Troy Benjamin and Craig Goldberg, who recently wrote an outstanding book called The Real Ghostbusters: A Visual History. The book, officially published by Dark Horse, is an excellent and never-before written exploration on the conception and development of The Real Ghostbusters animated series and toy line. The Real Ghostbusters: A Visual History is a must read book and goes in-depth to unearths many details previously unknown to the rabid Ghostbusters community.
This year we celebrate the 42th anniversary of Ghostbusters, the 37th anniversary of Ghostbusters II and milestone 40th and 10th anniversaries for The Real Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters: Answer the Call respectively. All this, and we are also just weeks away from learning first details about the upcoming Ghostbusters Netflix Animated Series coming next year. This is all ample motive to begin again and see what I can do to make things interesting for years to come.
Next year we will be celebrating 30 years of Ghostbusters.net and Extreme Ghostbusters. This realization was certainly one of many motivating factors that forced me to adopt a more pragmatic mindset and begin contributing regularly again. I will now focus more time building content and testing rudimentary features that will grow steady over time rather than spending months / years writing code that may never be used because the dependencies are out of date and/or the features weren’t adopted by the community.
My main goal is to create original content and guides for all kinds of ghostheads who are interested in the many aspects of the Ghostbusters multiverse. No AI, no clutter, no fees. Just solid, in-depth insight into all things Ghostbusters that will live on for years, instead of the ephemeral social media updates that seem to fade away with time. This does mean the community features will be dropped for the time being. There are plans to integrate our social media presence into the content that lives on the site and vise versa, allowing the best of both worlds of interactivity. Ghostbusters.net accounts will be preserved and they will return once there is enough content and features to properly set the right tone. Maintaining an inviting atmosphere has always been paramount and will continue to be a priority, now more than ever, due to the increased diversity of the Ghostbusters community.
Thank you for your continued interest in this ancient website. Please say hi to @Ghostbusters.net on our social media below. I’m mostly active on Twitter and BlueSky, but I will soon have reason to post more regularly across the board so feel free to follow us on your favorite social media accounts. Similarly, if you have comments or ideas on what you would like to see from Ghostbusters.net, just let us know!
