History: Ryan comes from a clan of werewolves known as the Cykeal, which is better known as the Cyke.
At a young age, Ryan was forced to witness the slaughtering of his clan by a group of vampires. He and his sister, Marline, were hidden by their parents and managed to survive the attack. However, everything they had in life was gone.

Ryan and Marline grew up together. They remembered everything their father had taught them, and followed his words as their mantra. One thing they hadn't been taught, however, was how to be werewolves. They hadn't reached werewolf stage when the clan was attacked. The two were forced to figure out their powers without any assistance.

Ryan was exploring a haunted house one day when he discovered...another Ryan. "Goat" Thomas was a member of the Ghostbusters, and the two Ryans became fast friends. Ryan Richmond developed the nickname "Cyke" around this time, partly as a way to tell the Ryans apart. Goat and Cyke pooled their knowledge of the supernatural and expanded the Ghostbusters team, not just to cover the common occurences of ghosts, but the entire paranormal world. The team rose in success and expanded in number. The Nightriders and some other people joined the team.

Some time later, Cyke was busting a nest of vampires, when something went horribly wrong. A rebuttal on the vampires' part led to Marline's death. The one person in the world who understood every part of Cyke's life was gone. Cyke went somewhat insane, and started hunting vampires night and day. The other Ghostbusters were worried about him, but didn't dare interfere.

Cyke finally managed to find the vampire that had killed his sister. He killed the vampire, hoping that this would satisfy his yearning for revenge. Yet, there was no inner light, no burden lifted from his shoulders. There was only the cold blood on his hands.

Emari Nightrider had developed a close bond with Cyke. The two were able to communicate telepathically, and had a sort of emotional bond. When Cyke went off to kill the vampire who took his sister's life, Emari had wanted to come with him. She didn't dare ask, however, because she knew that he needed to finish the job on his own. A few hours after he left, Emari heard a noise in her head. It started off as a soft whisper, but quickly grew to a scream. Emari could sense the incredible emotional pain coming from Cyke. She ran out of the Ghostbuster Headquarters, not telling anyone where she was going.

Following her intuition, Emari was able to find Cyke. He was in a coma, lying unconscious on the ground. Nobody was in sight. Emari ran to the nearest pay phone and called Goat and the other Ghostbusters to come help.

Cyke awoke several days later, and has not spoken of the incident since. The other Ghostbusters are extremely curious about his past, but something about Cyke's mysterious manner causes them to forget their questions the moment they see him.
