Ghost Trap Wheels
Tip For: Ghost Trap
Written By:

I used CPU49's Ghost Trap plans. While he talked about putting the wheels in, in a comical remark he used lowrider wheels. I was inspired by this with the following Idea: If you go to Wal*Mart or any hobby shop that sells models you can almost always find a lowrider model kit with a remote cotrol(not radio control, remote control, with the wire connecting the controller and the car) jumping lowrider kit, which just makes the wheels in the car jump up and down, or side to side. Many of these kits also have lights that blink or flash, and are commonly red and white.
Only the wheels are needed(you'll know what parts-they are usally amost assembled). The lowrider wheels are used in place of the commonly used wheels, and with a splice in the wires the control can be hidden in a part(about 1/3) of the trap pedal. When this part is stepped on, the ghost trap jumps up and down, or side to side (depending on what kit you bought) and makes it look like there is a ghost inside trying to get out, and shaking the whole trap in the process. The kit costs about $10.00-$12.00.
The only down side to this is that the trap cartridge can no longer be removed, since the motor to the wheels needs space inside the trap. I have found it worth it, especially when I step on the pedal to make the doors close, then set off the jumping, the look on people's faces! I enjoy it enough to drop the "entirely exact" aspect and have some ghost-hoppin' fun.
