You Can Teach a Dog Some Ghost Tricks

Written By: Twister

The Ecto-1 pulled into the station. The Ghostbusters got out and Slimer came floating over. He hugged Ray then slimed Peter. “What was that for Spud?” asked Peter angrily. He wiped the slime off his face, and grabbed his proton pack. “Didn’t I tell you not to mess with a guy who has a positron collider,” he cried and switched his particle thrower on. Ray and Egon stepped in front of Slimer. “Slimer’s important to us and you know that Peter,” said Egon. “Yeah,” agreed Ray. “How can you treat him like this?” “Because I’m sick of having pond scum spread out on my face,” replied Peter. “Why can’t we get a dog or something?” Slimer growled then flew away. “Now you’ve done it,” said Ray. Slimer came floating back in carrying a puppy. It was a small black Labrador retriever. He set it on the ground and snarled at Peter. The Ghostbusters turned and looked at him. “Yeah well…I was gonna tell ya as soon as you found it,” chuckled Peter. “We can’t afford to keep a dog man,” replied Winston. The puppy looked up at Ray and barked. He picked it up. “I’m sure we can afford it, look how cute it is,” Ray said as he hugged it. Janine walked in. “Aww, its so cute,” cried Janine. She grabbed the puppy away from Ray and snuggled it. Egon looked at Winston. “We’ve been outvoted,” he said.

Three months later the puppy was huge. Slimer screamed as Twister (that’s the dog’s name) chased him through the station. Twister knocked over tables and chairs. She ran down into the basement where the containment unit was. She ran around chasing Slimer until she got tangled up in a trap cord that was on the floor. She stumbled and skidded into the containment unit. Slimer laughed and slimed her. Twister chewed off the cord and chased Slimer upstairs. Suddenly, the Ecto-1 pulled in. Twister yelped and ran up and hid under Peter’s bed. “Twister,” called Peter. “We’re back Slimer,” called Ray. They went down into the basement and discovered the mess. Slime and dog fur everywhere. Egon picked up the chewed up cord. “Peter, that dog has to go,” said Egon sternly. “Now wait a minute, this is all Slimer’s fault,” argued Peter. They went upstairs. Slimer hid under the bed with Twister. “Where are those guys,” asked Winston. “Lets get outta here,” Twister said to Slimer. They snuck downstairs and ran through the door. “Twister,” called Peter. “Where are you?” “They’re not here,” said Ray. “I’ve looked everywhere.” “We have to find them,” said Egon. They jumped into the Ecto-1 and took off.

By this time Twister and Slimer had found an old abandoned building. They walked around in it. Slimer sniffled while Twister hung her head. Suddenly, a huge ghost appeared. A definite class 5. It grabbed Slimer. Twister growled and jumped up and attacked it. It grabbed Twister by the neck. She yelped and howled. Slimer was let loose and Twister fell to the ground. Suddenly, the Ghostbusters kicked through the door and zapped the ghost. “That’s what you get for messing with my dog,” shouted Peter. Egon rolled out the trap and opened it. The ghost disappeared into it. “Egon, let Twister stay,” said Ray. “She just needs some training, that’s all.” “Alright,” smiled Egon. Twister ran up and licked his face, then she ran over to Peter. “Let’s go home you guys,” said Winston. They loaded up into the Ecto-1 and went to the station.

Ray and Peter trained Twister and she became one of the best trained dogs in Manhattan. She became a show dog and even helped on the busts.
