The Boogieman episode never really got me, but....
And I've mentioned this before in different posts
"Knock, Knock" really creeped me out
The factors...
1) The skeletons
2) The wacky trains
3) The place of lost souls-like when Egon goes to check how long the tunnel is? What's that sound? It's like he's walking or something...and the music, used in almost every other episode...sounded creepier and more high pitched. Don't ask me why-it just gave me chills.....

I agree about "Knock, Knock". Especially when the guys are actually AT the door and Egon's admitting he's not sure they can do anything about it.

The Boogieman Cometh did it for me. He'll alwyas be the incarnation of the Boogieman in my mind. He doesn't scare me anymore, but when I was 5...
Also, the scene in Mrs. Roger's Neighborhood where all those hands start coming out of the walls frightened the crap out of me back in the day.

For the record, I didn't see The Grundel (which probably would have really freaked me out), the Boogieman Cometh, Doctor Doctor, or Ragnorak and Roll until last year.
So of the eps I did see as a kid -having to pick one, I'd go with The Boogieman is Back -although it was definitely inspirational to watch Egon overcome fear, instead of just saying he wasn't afraid...a nice way to start communicating to little kids that sometimes it's harder to admit that you're afraid than it is to overcome the thng itself.
Oh...and I also had the same reaction that someone else mentioned to Mrs. Roger's Neighborhood: I've never been one to enjoy watching people's bodies turn against them.
Based on that...this is really pathetic, but watching "Poultrygeist" when I was little was so disturbing that I turned it off -I never saw the end until I watched it on this site! It was really just the look on Egon's face when he starts to turn back...and knows what's coming. Something about that was just horrifying to me. Of course, had I kept watching, I'd've realized that being stuck with a wierd body didn't actually bother him all that much, as long as he kept his head.

The Boogie Man. Luckliy, Egon prevailed. Egon has always been my favorite....if I were forced against my will to choose ONE favorite that is....and when we saw him overcome his childhood fear, it was really inspirational. I love Egon.

Although I found Ragarok and Roll, Knock Knock, and the Boogieman episodes rather frightening, the scariest one I remember from my childhood has to be Poultrygeist. The whole damn episode, right from the beginning when the Werechicken sneaks up on the farmer, right through when they're investigating the farm, the baby werechicken hatches...EVERYTHING. In fact, Poultrygeist is the only RGB episode I show at my Ghostbusters Night (though I am considering adding Citizen Ghost). It even has the greatest line ever heard in Ghostbusters:
"That's it! Chicken freezes at very low temperatures!"

The shapeshifter. Why? Because when it shifts into a ghostbuster, the ghostbuster's eyes look as if they were high. These "altered" ghostbusters are truely frightening!
