Well, I think it's about time we all find out how we got this term.
Come with me class on a magical field trip toThe Ghostbusters Homepage to find out. You see, The Ghostbusters Homepage was the original GB site. It was owned and run by the famous Bill Emkow. I don't know how many of you still go to this site, but it is great with information! Here is a tidbit:
"THE TERM "GHOSTHEAD" was borne into this world on July 3rd, 1996 - the young days of The Ghostbusters Homepage (before the design!) - I recieved my first email from Norm Gagnon. In an old botched attempt at creating a "classified" section, Norm sent me this email:
Greetings and hallucinations! I was wondering if I was the only fan out there...until I found this cool site. ... Anyway, sad to say that I have placed my tan coverall and Proton pack in a box for storage, a few years ago. I would really like to see a third film, is there a possibility that we "Ghostheads" could combine forces and write to Columbia Pictures for such a production? Wishful thinking.
Since then, this word "Ghosthead" has become a popular word referring to any Ghostbusters fan or a fan of The Ghostbusters Homepage. This word is used everywhere on the internet, but this is its origin. Norm is duly responsible for creating the word -- just think of that the next time you see it. Thank-you, Normy... and thanks for taking your pack and coveralls out of storage. You've been a TRUE credit to everything I've done here. It's safe to say that without you this page would no-longer exist."

But look at that for a second; "It's safe to say that without you this page would no-longer exist." Now with all these wars going on and such, we need torealize that this is true. Get your acts together folks and realize that we ARE the community, even if what they say about Chad is true or false. W/E Bill built us, let's honor what HE did FOR us.

Makes a lot of sense, since the "Head" means fan. Deadhead=Grateful Dead, Parrothead=Jimmy Buffett, etc. I called myself a Ghosthead before I even knew that the term really existed.

umm I think most already read that... GB homepage is a must for any real ghosthead to review. and in doing so you will aslo learn the "so-called" birth of the term Ghosthead.

Yes, it is. It does make sense... kind of like how fans of the Grateful Dead are called "Deadheads".

I vaugely remember back when i joined. about a week before Bill retired. then i was introduced to GBCentral.com ...i was glad to finally have a place in my life where other people loved GB as much as myself. Im proud to be a Canadian, im proud to be Americas neighbour and im proud to be a Ghosthead.
