The reference "the boys in grey" refers to the radio voice we hear talking about the 'busters towards the end of the music montage in GB1, when Dana is cutting up something/cooking and listening to her radio in the kitchen. It's just become a saying we use, and never really referred to their uniforms; although the GB2 ones can certainly look grey depending on the lighting.

No, Grey usually refers to the Khaki colored ones, which looked kind of grey in the first movie. The charcoal/grey ones from GB2 (they were NOT blue) are also refered to as grey. The GB's wore either 2 or three, depending on how youlook at it. You can say they wore khaki and Grey, implying the khakis were the same in both movies, or you could say that they were two different sets of khakis and one set of grey.

Also, they used a very small amount of purplish dye in the uniforms; this is why there's always a question of what color they are. Officially there are 2 colors, the GB1 and GB2 uniforms, which look different depending on the light. If you look at the group shot of the guys from GB2 on the poster, they clearly have a purple "tint" against a bluish foundation; yet from the photos from Rolling Stone, they look more grey/bluish. It's all about lighting, and "pulling out" certain colors. The uniforms are not exactly as you'd find them in an ARMY/NAVY store, they've been dyed, etc. Hope this helps.

Correct. There are only 2 different colors; BUT multiple numbers of the color. Keep in mind that at the end of GB2, Egon is wearing a khaki uniform AS WELL AS Louis, who is wearing one of Egon's khaki's to help out the guys. So the total number of UNIFORMS is really unknown, but could be easily estimated at 2-3 each color. And the total number of COLORS is 2.

Well how come on their suits they have the no ghost logo throwing up the ghostbusters two logo- when in their reality they dont know that they are in a sequal- is it supposed to be a joke that i dont find amusing, and that would make three different suits- 1.khaki w/original no ghost logo 2. khaki w/ sequal logo 3. wierd dark color w/ sequal logo

The GB2 symbol WITHIN the movie symbolizes their reopening and being back in business; pretty much a huge point of the movie. Watch when Ray and Winston are at the birthday party; they're wearing the khaki uniforms with the original GB1 patches. Then, after the courtroom scene, they reopen the business for professional busting and replace the old patches with the new ones. New patches do not mean new uniforms, they just take off the old ones and put on the new ones. Again, only 2 colors, but multiple numbers for each buster; you can see in their lockers more than one suit hanging up of the same color, the Louis wearing Egon's suit, etc. It's all there, just look closely.

Which suits are you saying have the purple die? I'm pretty sure that neither had purple die in them. The dark grey ones from GB2 (the ones comonly mistaken for blue) were dark grey, there was no purple added. Also, I don't see why purple would've been added at all. I know that the GB2 suits were custom made by flightsuits.com And the other ones are obviously khaki, though in the first one alot of low lighting made them look like they were a purple-ish grey color. Also, you can't really judge the color from pictures, because lighting will change how it looks. So it's highly unlikely that the color you see on the cover is really the exact color of the actual uniform.

No purple dye involved, period. Either they were custom made using an existing fabric or they were a lighter gray dyed with black to darken them. Black dye will give of a purple/blue hue. Example: Take a black Sharpie marker and draw a line on a piece of paper. Then hold the paper at an angle in the light and you'll see it give of a purple/blue hue.
And the GB1 suits are KHAKI. Not Grey, KHAKI. True Khaki colored fabric gets a grey tint to it when it's washed.

This is it. GB is dieing and we're the ones killing it. Take one last good look because this isn't going to be here much longer.
It's been fun. See you on the other side...
