However Vee, I have thought of a few more points to consider.
I also observed, and this may be only what I seem to have noticed, that Janine comes off as very desparate. To some guys, this is very scary to them. That also is why Egon seems(to me!) to be confused about his feelings for her, what with the way they seem to jump from liking her to merely tolerating her. And then there's the point that ProtonDefender brought up, how her feelings change. That also may contribute to Egon's confusion.
Of course, that's only my opinion. Hoo-boy this topic is getting tired. That's all for now.

E Graves - Read your post where you say something to the effect ; "in the EGB series it wasn't like Egon and Janine didn't have Kylie and Eduardo they could mess around with". If I get your meaning, I think Kylie did in fact want to mess around with Egon, but why would Janine want to mess around with Eduardo  ? Why would any woman want to mess with Eduardo ever, look at the guy?  .

I've thought of one more point to add: the issue on office romances. If a possible relationship with Janine were to break down in the future, it would be very awkward for them seeing each other day in day out after, should a break-up ever occur. Then there's the fact that Janine acts like she's really desparate, which is a prelude to her being really controlling. Remember the movie "Fatal Attraction"?. Okay maybe Janine wouldn't go THAT far but, you know what I mean.

Fatal Attraction situation might make for a dark ff, since it seems early in the series both Kylie and Janine like Eegon but, not sure how you could work thaat in, as the scriptwriters seemed to haave tweaked the ladies characters so they were friends. And likke I said in the series it seems the girls became frieends, so it wouldn't jell with the storyline to make them fight and hurt one another, or hurt Egon, for thaat matter.

Maybe not, but hey it makes for some great competition. In fact I have a fanfic in the works where a fifth GB joins the original team. This is a character I made up myself. I just hope this story gets approved.
Oh and about that other thing you mentioned that could also be used as a crossover idea(Insert Evil laugh here.)

People seldom picked up on that both women had a thing for Egon at the start of the 2nd animated series. It would have made it interesting if the scritwriters would have left this aspect in throughout the series, as a little cut throat competition between the lady busters might have added an interesting sub plot to the series. And, trust me I know two women seldom really like one another once they are adults, especially if they both set their eye on the same fella  . When romance is involved women can become more competitive than guys and as a rule we are more viciouse than they are.  . I have noticed by reading the credits that most GB ep's were written by men  , ,how could you expect a man writer to get emotions right for Kylie and Janine  .

That's why more female scriptwriters need to have been hired. And yeah you're right: we woman can get very visious when it comes to a guy we like. That's been one of the themes for some of my artwork. I've drawn pictures of the character I made up getting into fistfights with Janine. Oh, when I liked MMPR a while back, I used to draw pictures of girls getting into fistfights over Billy(He has a similar personality to Egon).

Ay-yi-yi-yi-yi...
Yeah, Billy had the same "problems" as Egon...he had the nerd chick, it was suggested Trini liked him too...and then he goes off and marries a fish babe from Aquitar.
The Billy/Egon thing gets even weireder in a fan fic I read once by a writer named Jeff Morris. It was a Ghostbusters/Power Rangers crossover (and not nearly as stupid as it might sound), and suggested that Billy was Egon's nephew. If I can dig up the link I'll edit it onto here...

And that was because Trini had a deep understanding of his personality. That's the difference between her and Janine. And then of course there were those other girls that liked him too. That's interesting that you should mention about an FF that puts Billy as Egon's cousin, because I had been thinking that Saban Ent. had patterned Billy's character traits after Egon, just like the producers of Star Trek, who patterned Voyager's EMH atfer Dr. McCoy.

Dear EgonsBabe - If they wanted that sense of realism they would have women script writers write for Kylie and Janine and men for the male characters. The same could be said for all animations that want a sense of realism. As far as progressive equality goes America lags behind GB and Canada, in almost all major areas of womens rights. We need to do more, get many wonen in these jobs in film, especially with animated series that are striking for that certain sense of realism. There was another poster said the romance between Egon & Janine failed in the 1st animated series because romance bored 10 year olds and didn't sale action figures. I think the RGB ran out of steam after the 1st or 2nd season and should have got the ax after that, but didn't. EGB was superior to RGB, in almost all ways, including animation, but failed because the program planners didn't know whether it was an adult animation or childrens cartoon . Egon would have had major problems with K & J, if it weren't a scripted TV series. I think some Swiss lady with a GB site did fan art of K & J fighting each other for Egon, once  .

That's funny, because I've also drawn pictures of my character Clara Hamilton fighting over Egon with Janine. Heck, I even drew a picture that I made to look like an ad for a fight. I titled it "Hamilton Vs. Melnitz: The fight of the Century". Of course, I work out the ending as having Clara end up with Egon(Insert laugh of triumph here).

Do you post these images you made online somewhere or what? I think the woman who drew images of K & J fighting over Egon's site is called PKE 0nline or PKE Readings online. And if memory serves, it seems one girl is on either side of the guy, pulling him by either are, yelling let go he's mine. Well that's close enough, you get the idea.

Egonsbabe: Your an Egon adorer, you fancy him correct? I thought so, as any woman (and I'm not being sexist here, it works vice versa) would be in this situation, you are jealous, plain and simple! You wish that Egon's affections were available to you, but you know full well he is fictional and they can't be! Therefore you want to pretend and you can't do that if Janine and EGon get together. In my opinion, you wouldn't consider any girl a good match for Egon, unless it was you.
Jakalman: I think it has been OVERLY established where Kylie's priorities lie... You say no body picked her feelings for Egon up... this is becaus ethey aren't there! She looks up to him greatly, as I most likely would should he be real, after all he is a great mind when it comes down to the paranormal. I might even go so far to say that I would be nervous around him, the way Kylie is. She simply looks up to a great deal! kylie loves Eduardo, after he mentioned that she could use to gain some pounds in the second ep whilst she was possesed. She later said, when she was back to normal, that she could use to put on some pounds, and she almost smiled at Eduardo. There is an obvious love connection. egbfan brings this out perfectly in her work, and it is definitely there in the eps!
I am NOT an Edurado fan, but I don'ty hate him either, I can see that he truely loves Kylie, not just attrcated to her, he would do anything for her. He does NOT have a thing for Janine what so ever, and that witchy women ep was most likely a tactic to get closer to Kylie.
Veedramon: Well said, you know what your on about, glad I can call you a friend!

Hey, what are you ticked off about Sinister? Yeah maybe I am jealous about Janine, but like I said before, all jokes aside she's just really annoying! Maybe if the writers had given her a similar personality to that of Trini of the MMPR, she wouldn't have been so irritating, because like a said in one of my last posts Trini had a deep understanding of Billy, and she probably would for Egon.
One other thing, Egon, and Billy for that matter, to me, their personality type is the epitome of the "perfect man". If I were to date a real man who had a similar personality to them, I'd feel secure in the knowledge that he'd treat me with respect.
Oh and Jackalman99, my pics are like that too. I have Janine on one side and Clara on the other, and they're each pulling on Egon's arms in the opposite direction.
