Was the building used in GB real

you know the Fire house was that a real building or did they just build it for the film same as tha huge builing that Dana lives in when the ghostbusters are out side about to go in is that really a real building

The inside of the firehouse is a REAL fire station in Los Angeles, the outside was taken from a real fire station in New York.

Dana's building is real too... I can't imagine that there are many big open fields on Central Park West, where a movie studio could build a prop building... However, I will say this... During the earthquake sequence, the scenes of the police car being sucked down were shot infront of a facade (in LA) of the real building...

Yep, both the firehouse and Dana's building are real, although according to the deal, the rooftop was added by them.

The firehouse is real because it was used in the film the Mask. Dana's apartment building was real aswell but I think the roof part was added on or something like that.

Yep, the "live" commentry on the DVD said that they opitcally added the rooftop to the apartment building.

both are definity real i live in Ny..Dana's apartment building isnt as tall either..and everything that was done the inside of either of these places were done in LA and a few things outside...

Dana's building facade had 3 floors and the roofcap added by a matte drawing. The firehouse facade exists on N. Moore Street at the edge of Tribeca. Dana's apartment was build on 2 sound stages at Sony. The Firehouse interiro was FDLA Station 3.
