Hey, gang!
When I was growing up in Holly Springs, MS, a pre-Civil War/AnteBellum city in the south, there were TONS of ghost stories and my interest in ghosts was peaked.
In 1980 I drew a comic book with my characters using "Ghost kill rays." So, when the idea of Ghostbusters came out into the movies I was excited.
I was already a fan of Dan Aykroyd by that time from the Blues Brothers, which made me want to see the film even more.
On opening weekend (obviously 1984, don't remember the date), the me, my mom, aunt, and several cousins were on a trip to Gatlinburg, TN, and I was disappointed UNTIL!
We found a theater there that was showing the movie and went to see it there, so when we were going through the local 'commercial' haunted house (with costumes and masks, not a real one) I was pretending to shoot the ghosts and my fandom of Ghostbusters had begun.
Obviously, the original film is the GB's that I swear by.
How were you introduced to it, especially if you weren't around in 1984 and all the hype came out about it? Were you first introduced to GB2 or RGB, or even EGB--if so, was there one of these or more since it was your first encounter with GB that you like it better than the original and swear by it?

To be honest, I can't remember. As far as I can tell, I was born a Ghosthead in June 1984
