As far as the general public is concerned, do you think ghostbusting is dead? Do they even care about it?

IMO, Ghostbusters is dead to the general public. They just dont care about it anymore. Its only alive to us Ghostheads. Now that doesnt mean a sequel would fail. Cause many people would go see it just because everyone has seen the first two. I mean, I dont care for Star Wars at all but Ive went to see both EP.1 and 2.

I'm sure it is. I put the GB stuff away for a few years until EGB arrived and seriously ticked me off. Now there's a whole new spark.

Well its dead to most people most of the year, but it becomes alot cooler around Halloween. People get in the mood for the supernatural.

It's definetly not as big as it was back when the movies came out and the cartoon was airing. It still has some fans like us. The general public I think has a sort of memory of it. YOu know, you could say "Remember Ghostbusters?" to some people on the street, and most of them would give answers like "yeah, those were good movies" or "my kid watched the toon. It was cool."

And if anyone doesn't think he is telling the truth, the same thing happens to me all the time. I got to Wal Mart, Best Buy, K-mart you name it, and I always look at Ghostbusters 1 and 2, and it never fails they are constantly re-stocking sold units.

It's been a while since I posted anything but anyway. People at my school love Ghostbusters still. Though they don't show it, someone brings it up and the class goes nuts on the great memories. But to answer your question...people don't show it on the outside, but they love it deep down.

it can't be that dead if everyone remembers it ....if you ever get the chance scream " who you gonna call " at a croud and see how many reply with " ghostbusters " just because everyone isn't as big of fans as us doesn't mean that it's dead , just more important to certian people . theres 7321 members as of right now ...imagine how many there would be if everyone knew this site was here ! children of the 80's will never forget ghostbusters . if you were alive in the 80's it was impossible not to know about it , and it had such a long run . no , it's not dead , just dormant to people that don't care as much as we do . death is but a door , time is but a window , ghostbusters will be back ! in what form ? i got no clue .

Sigh* I've said it many times that to the general public, Ghostbusters is dead in the GB3 board. If Sony made a GB3, sure it would make a lot money, but i don't see it anywhere like Xmen or The Matrix........

Ahh, forget about Xmen and Matrix, Ghostbusters are far better than those. GB also deserve a trilogy more than them. And I believe if Sony advertised GB3 right, then it could out do Xmen and Matrix at the box office. This is Ghostbusters were talking about here, not Heman.

I personally think its alive and well in the public's minds, but it just doesnt come out all the time. Everyone knows what the ghostbusters are, some more knowledgeable thann others. Even little kids know what ghostbusters are, they might not know too much about it but if they saw a preview of a new ghostbusters movie on telivision I bet they would want to go see it.
