Just not like they used to.

So here I am, I'm watching an auction feverishly on Ebay and watching the progress of my X2 download, which reminds me NET if ya still need it..., anyways so i went up stairs to make some chicken Noodle (hey gimme a break I can't cook) when I realized I had let some time go by lol and I forgot about my auction so I started running down the steps. I forgot something pretty important, I'M FILMING!! well kinda, I was taking pictures of my figures for the online comic and had one of my ecto 1s on the second to top step. I kicked it..and it took a helluva fall..but when I got downstairs all that wqas wrong was that damn door popped off...So I was like Man, they don't make'em like they used to. Either Kenner were geniouses or authentic Whackos.. tongue

One time i stored my Ecto-1 under my bed. I had just cleaned it all off and was going to try to print out new decals for it since the other ones peeled off. Then my neighbor sat on my bed and believe it or not, the bed actually collapsed under where he sad. A board from the bottom of it actually crushed into the back of the ecto, smashing the roof into the trunk. Luckily, not too much was wrong and it was only a matter of supergluing the one piece that was shattered back into place. Then of course I took his. He didn't really care though, so all I'm doing now is looking to try and find some decals so I can finish what I started and get the new decals put on.

I think it's fun to use the "it would be bad" and "biblical disaster" quotes sometimes when telling someone about how things could be bad. You know, just to see their reaction.

My cousin left his on the train tracks near his house one night while we playing. Needless to say, the next morning, all we found was a blue siren, and half a door. But then again, his was a 1A model, so matbe they got cheap in the later years.

Dude, it got ran over by a TRAIN. Im suprised you found that much. Both my Ecto's how ever, are in great condition seeing as they have gone through over a decade of non-stop playing with. And your right, toys are not made how they used to be made.

I can't recall what happened to my Ecto-1, I believe it was crushed somehow, but when I exumed some select GB stuff from the basement, one of them was Ecto-1A. Since the stickers were already peeling and I hated the look anyways, I stripped off all the 1A stickers, printed out original GB logo decals for the doors, and drew up NY Liberty Plate stickers. It was then put on display next to EGB Ecto (which I dubbed Ecto-1A with it's own plates) in my GB "shrine"
And of course, over a month ago, one of my cats was where he wasn't supposed to be. He jumpped off my cabinet where it was sitting, knocking Ecto onto the floor and severing all but one of the roof supports. I quickly turned to Ebay as it was beyond repair and finally won an Ecto with the original stickers AND a back door (anyone else ever loose those? They were like the easiest parts to misplace).
It's now sitting on my display and I'm keeping a sharp eye on it this time. I'm still checking through Ebay for a 1A and maybe another Ecto, JIC.

I was being a little bit sarcastic when I suggested that they might've gotten cheap in the later years because it didn't withstand the train. wink
