I was a bit surprised that no one posted about this, but yup Vancouver was picked for the 2010 Winter Olympics today, yippie!

Olympics dont really mean anything any more. I mean, I like to watch the occasional bball game or sprints but otherwise, in a lot of cases they are actually pale in comparison to regular sports. For Example, the World Cup is bigger than Olympic Soccer. Not to mention the NBA finals, and World Series.

what are you talking about?! my city hosted the 1988 winter olympics and we still carry pride in our steps for that.

Olympics has dropped in ratings considerably the last couple times, most project the same will continue to occur.

Im not saying they dont matter. Im just saying relatively, they are still a little below the major championships in many sports.
