I want to know about Bruce's father. Is he in the comicbook? Did he had the same power like in the movie? If yes, what was the comic number? or what was the story exactly?

The comicbook about wolverine's past is made!
Man I missed this one and I dont want to pay 25$can to read that (its in their archive file of my comicstore). So whats the story?

Bruce's father was named Brian in the comic but was given the name of Bruce's TV name, David. Brian was an atomic physicist and for some strange reason, feared radiation. He believed that we was exposed to trace amounts of radiation and began to drink to cope with the stress. When Bruce was born, he believed that the radiation he believed to have been exposed to him was the reason that Bruce began to show signs of a gifted intelligence. The truth is, Bruce had a dormant X-gene and it wasn't until the gamma blast released it and turned him into the Hulk. Hope that clears some stuff up and if anybody wants to correct me, go right ahead.

Not sure about the father, but I'm pretty sure they melded him with the Absorbing Man. For Wolvie's origin, go to any comic website and purchase a copy of ORIGIN TPB. Don't be cheap now, it's worth the cash.

I'm not a comic book guy so bear with me. I just want to get one thing straight. The same gene that causes mutation in say the X-Men or other mutants was turned on by the gamma blast?

Actually, it was a Celestial Seed planted in Bruce and activated by the Gamma Bomb. Check out the Earth/Universe/Paradise X mini series for that back story.

Isn't Earth/Paradise/UNiverse X an alternate future? I'm pretty sure that in the regular universe it was a dormant X gene.

Absorbing Man, AKA Crusher Creel...capable of absorbing anything he touches and taking on its properties for a limited time. Usually carries around a large ball and chain as a primary weapon and source for absorption. Recently expanded powers to absorb the consciousness of others and possess their bodies.

Drk Mgcn brought up some good info on Bruce's father in the comics. I have an issue that tells this info. I Love Ecto also brought up good info on the Absorbing Man. The Absorbing Man is where they got the idea for the powers of Bruce's father in the movie.
