Anybody else here know much about it? Just curious. Most everybody probably knows the GB stuff I've done but I have some other things going too. I just registered to vgmusic.com which is really great for any video game midis for any system you may be looking for!
Anyway, my first contribution was a fairly simple one. The song from Back to the Future for NES. I looked everywhere with no luck so decided to do it myself. The tune is so horribly annoying yet strangely addicting I couldn't resist!
Remember the crucial scene in the movie where Marty jumps over trashcans, picks up clocks, throws bowling balls and gets attacked by killer bees? Nope, but someone seems to remember it that way. The only song in the game, the one that haunts your nightmares and makes you want to throw your controller and smash your game system. Back to the Future! Its under new files HERE uploaded by Zack and is at the top of the list now. Enjoy and feel free to comment or express your memories of this fun game
If you don't remember the action of the game, check it out here

Yeah, that's about all I remember of the game. It had nothing to do with the movie. Why was he collecting clocks again?

I got the both BttF games for NES. Good Games!! But The music in the first one was not very special, actually it was kinda annoying? And it wasn't even from the movie, it was made up for the game. Am I thinking of the right song?

http://www.vgmusic.com/new-files/ You can hear my interpretation of the song there. Yep completely made up frustratingly repetitive song Not the BTTF theme by any means. I recently finished and uploaded the 1 or 2 player select song from GB2 for NES too which is there as well You run around and pick up clocks so the characters on the meter don't fade. Otherwise you die There are mini games in between like Lou's Diner, the school, the dance and the car but the main action is Marty running in the street.

you did an excellent job on that Zack, only thing i would have changed with it would have been at the end of the Duh, duh dumduhduh dun...it kinda supposed to fade out before it restarts instead of cutting short like you did, but hell, i know nothing about programing midis and you did a damn fine job on that sir. Brought back memories of BTTF1. Although you say the music for part 1 was bad? I beg to differ, part 2 &3's music was MUCH worse. Only thing that made it worse was when the damn bird would fly in, stop the music and chase you through half the board with that damn "singing" AUGH!!! i almost broke the TV when i heard that keep coming on. So BTTF is music to my ears compared to the garbage they put out on part 2&3. Great job.
Though since you know a lot about it, have you thought about doing midi versions of the songs from Robocop Vs Terminator for Sega Genesis? I dont even know if those would translate really well (probably not) but if you even know what game im talking about with this, ill be surprised anyway. But if you do know, do you know anyone who might have the actual songs, like recordings of them or something for download? That games songs is on my top 10 of video game music and ive checked vgmusic.com for it..nothing.

lol I downloaded the rom for BTTF2/3 I hate that bird lol Yeah I was kinda guessing on parts of it near the end, could've worked on it more before I submitted it. I'll have to look into some other stuff. There's a lot I can still learn about sequencing, theres some amazing stuff out there for game midis, as well as remixes!

If you do somethign special at the beginng of part 2 and 3, it will take you to a special screen where you have to put the words Flux Capacitor in, then you can start the game off at part 3! in case you did not know.

Hey Zack,
Nice job on the BTTF1 midi. Yes, that music is hauntingly familiar. As soon as you described the scene, that music just popped in my head. I still have the game (as well as like 200 others. lol) for the good old NES.
Surprisingly, I never played BTTF2/3 so I wouldn't be much help in the quality of those midis. Vgmusic.com is an excellent site. I personally came across the site about 9 months or so ago and have been hooked ever since.
I'm hoping to hear more of your RGB midis; good job on all the ones I've heard to this day. You need to do the "Janine theme" and "Slimer enters the scene music" soon.
Well, once again, kudos to you and good luck on all RGB and non-RGB musical endeavors.
~Danny~

Thanks! It seems my other one has gone to the 101-200 page. Hopefully they'll update and be added soon. There are some incredibly good sequencers there. I've been on a Donkey Kong Country kick as of late breaking out all 3 games and reliving some of the fun. Good music for setting the mood in DKC games whether you're in the jungle, factory, mines, underwater, cliffs, etc. Anyway, I figured I could come up with a few obscure songs that nobody bothered to even touch. Under GB2 for NES they have the Ecto-1A level and Higher and Higher. I'll probably tackle the jazzy driving level before too long since the version someone submitted is just the GB theme.
The new version of the site will hopefully be able to come sooner than later. The main thing I've been looking at is a solid redesign but hopefully a few new tunes will have to come with it. After I lost all of the files from my computer, I haven't exactly been motivated to start anything over I had worked on before. I had been doing work on the fast Slimer song awhile back and could probably start the others soon. It's really just a matter of making myself start it and forcing myself to listen to the song over and over. The others will likely come eventually if no one else learns how to sequence midis and starts submitting them. If anybody out there has anything GB/RGB they've worked on, I'd love to hear it!
It's likely with the GB2 score(and GB1) score at Ghostbusters.it, there will be more of an emphasis on the cartoon. P.S. If anyone actually took the time to read all of this, get a life!

Hey all. I don't think anyone noticed but I was absent here for about a week. DESPERATELY needed to get away from GBN. Still do really. Anyway, got to sequence some more stuff during the time off which can be heard at vgmusic.com under New Files The bonus music from Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers(4-18), the boss music from Duck Tales(listen to the newer version from 4-17) and some other stuff. It was like being a newbie all over again on the message boards there. Did get some helpful constructive criticism though.
I would directly link to them but they don't like that. Most of them are on the first page under the name Zack though and further back theres some other stuff too.

I noticed you were slightly absent. I as well was a little lazy for a few days. Its not that I needed to get away just to I dont know, out of it to login and junk.
Anyways, I love videgames like alot of the jurassic park 16 bit games and 32 bit games that were just completely different than anything in the movie.

This song brings back memories as does the game. I just love the NES! Tell me Zack, how did you make this? I've always wanted to make my own midis, but never found the time to find out how. There are several video game themes that that site lacks. Vgmusic is one of my top favorite sites and I would really like to contribute.

vgmusic.com is great. I've been finding myself spending more time in music and game music related stuff more than GBN lately
MIDI files(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) Two things you would need to get started are below.
1.some level of knowledge of music(you have to program the notes in. Compose/arrange/put everything together)
2. A program you can do it in. Here are some. I use Cakewalk Express personally. It was $30 but I've gotten tons of use out of it so it was really worth it with what I've been able to accomplish. You can probably download it online somewhere(Kazaa etc) or a demo somewhere. Hope this helps somewhat.
I think there may be a misconception with some people that it is somehow able to be taken from the game itself when it's really just listening and arranging putting notes in. People do hook up keyboards though and record stuff that way too.
