Yes, definitely. That little User Info box says that GBN has 6800 Users as of right now. I'm pretty sure that includes my original account that I misspelled the password to when signing up, and could never log back in.

I agree, people who haven't been here since they first signed up, or haven't been on for about a year should be removed. It seems like a waste to keep records of these people. But somehow I think this topic came up before, and Chad said he wouldn't 'clean house'.

I guess I agree, there's no point in having people who only post say once a year, if a person't taking a year off then that's fine, but people who sign up and then don't participate are not only a waste of space, but of time and effort.

Chad's not gonna clean house because we're almost at 7000 users. This looks good for the GB community. However, when less than half of those support anything to do with the community, I'm sure companies take notice.

Its not that big of a deal. Unless somehow members who don't post at all or hardly post costs Chad money. As long as YOU post and are active, what does it matter if people sign up and don't participate here?

I think the main reason I started the thread is that its just discouraging to see somebody register and never come back. It would be better, in my opinion, to have 1000 real participating members, than those other 5000 blank files.

Not only is Roshanger right, but c'mon people. We KNOW that there are not 6,957 users on this site. If it were true, you'd instantly get that many sigs on a gb petition.

The only thing you can do, if you're dissappointed that people sign up and then leave, is to do your very best to draw them into the community. If they signed up and never came back, it's because they didn't find anything of interest here.
As for deleting them, I'm with Chad on this one. My commitment to the board is related to my work - there have been strings of months where I've barely had a chance to look at the board.
Better to keep 9 accounts that will never return, just so you don't delete that 10th account that will one day return and wonder why they can't get in any more.
