I would define a good fanfic if it has:
realativiely good spelling
Realistic characters and places
Plenty of detail for objects, people or places.

_____________

"We have the tools, we have the talent"
The sun never sets on the British Empire...because God can't trust us in the dark! evil grin
Nightsquad gets chatting
Egon and Janine forever! Everything else is wrong

My vision of a good fan fiction...

1. Creativity
2. Good Grammer, which I'm not good at, as of late.
3. Realistic Places
4. Good Chracters- Heroes & Villians
5. Good Vehicles

A good fanfic would have to make you think, but not too much, and it would have to make sense.

Maybe I should write a fanfic...been wanting too, but it'd probably be farrrrrr from good...guess only time will tell. a good fanfic is one that retains interest and is somewhat, in my mind, exciting and entertaining...it can be silly, but not dumb and serious, yet not political channel serious.

I agree with everything except the realistic part. I mean, we're talking about stories about busting ghosts, how realistic can you get. smile

Well, I mean like: no flying people, chickens exploding for no reason and talking crocodiles. Stuff like that.

A good fan fic should be original, add to the universe and include exploding chickens, if it makes sense...along with a character with terrible grammar, such as, "As you may have presently made yourself aware of, my grammar sucks!"

Uh... what if the person were writing a fanfic of a crossover of the GBs and Wally Gator? He talks. Does that mean any crossover involving a cartoon character that isn't a human instantly bad? I mean, there are several different kinds of fanfics, genres, and styles. I think that's being a little unfair to certain fanfics. While yes, some fanfics should be written realistic, while others can bend certain boundries. Why must someone explain that Mickey Mouse can talk? Or Snoopy is a beagle that can do almost anything? Let's face it, there are 3 different GB dimensions. One is the Ghostbusters movie where I completely agree on the realistic part. The Batman, Back to the Future, X-Men, and other live action movies are usually written realisticly. Now the RGB & EGB are in the cartoon realm. Not the realistic like world. In the cartoon world a character can do nearly everything with some boundries. Of course, when a person writes fanfic such as this I try to judge by how faithful they stay with the shows including the crossovers. Such as how do they keep it with the style of RGB when they're crossing over with Spider-Man and trying to keep it faithful in Marvel terms as well. And there are some non realistic events that occur in every cartoon, even the most realistic cartoon created still bends the boundries of reality. It's a cartoon, and the first rule of cartoons is that a character can do whatever it wants in a cartoon! So I try to determine what genre and style the fanfic is before I judge it and give it a score. The only true key factor in my scores is grammar, spelling, if I could understand it, and if I liked it. Realism isn't such much key unless I felt the story was suppose to be realistic and it bent some bounds. But then again, that doesn't mean it isn't good.

Sometimes it requires an open mind

I define a good story by the following:

A plot that keeps my attention and flows from beginning to end without any distractions.
Has some comic relief.
No boring romance scenes. They make me fall asleep. (snore!)
Easy to read paragraphs and sentences.

_____________

Peter:"It's the thing! The monster! It's here! Only it's different!
Egon:"Peter calm down! You're babbling!
Peter:"What word don't you understand Egon? Thing, monster or different?
Egon:"Well, you can start with your definition of monster. *ROAR!* That'll do.

Thanx for the signature pic Zack! And the Av! They rock!!!
Egon and Clara Hamilton(a character in my FF)4ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please read my FanFic. More will come later.

...I'm not going to talk to you for at least a week, it's not good for me.

Okay, unless it's a crossover with a show that specifically has talking gators, then have them, if not, then it seems silly. And as for exploding chickens...I don't want to get into that.
