Oh boy...I didn't think I'd create such a mess here, but now we're starting to snarl up...
As the draft of "Opening Night" stands now, Venkman is living in LA with Dana and Oscar--he continues to live as a Hollywood agent, his job in "Back In The Saddle".
EDIT Most of this post removed, as the references to the Timeline are apocryphal, conjectural, and will be revised soon anyway.
Ayi yi yi...I probably think about these things too much...

Heh, this is going to get very tricky. In a future fic, I'm having Egon, Ray and Winston at the Firehouse per EGB Fan's Fiction Rebirth And Retribution, as well as hopefully being able to use the Ghostbusters she created for After Graduation These in themselves help with continuity, because originally Peter was in the fic, but I will be removing him to hel-p ease in the plausability of West Coast Ghostbusters.
And, it appears Bo might have agreed to allow the change in Nightsquad's timeline, I'll report back when I get definate confirmation.
Also, hopefully this will mean the Nightsquad timeline fits near perfectly into the GBI Timeline. And now that I look at it, I put Welcome to Burkittsville in 1984, which is way out of there, with the revised timeline I should be able to move it close or around 1999, it will get explained, if not already hinted at by it's name.

Probably for the best, until the Nightsquad continuity is settled. I was worried about how Bo would take some of the revisions being bandied about (he's been a touch cranky of late)
Venkman wouldn't have to be in Hollywood all the time. We could just say he visits occassionally to tend to his interests there (he lived there full time between RGB and XGB, and we can assume he still has business and contacts there).
Will RGB be added to the timeline, purely for reference purposes? Maybe phrase it as such..

Events considered canonical from the second half of RGB Season One occur.
Events considered canonical from RGB Season Two occur.
1986
Events considered canonical from RGB Season Three occur. After that, the Ghostbusters go out of buisness until late 1988 (GB2)
1989
Events considered canonical from Season Four occur
1990
Events considered canonical from Season Five occur
1991
Events considered canonical from Season Six occur

This phrasing would let us pick and choose what we want to keep, and hopefully keep everyone happy on the "cartoon characters vs. Four Guys in Tan ect ect ect" issue. Not to mention let us say that the crap from Seasons Two and on (the Junior Ghostbusters, Doctor Dweeb, ect) are invalid while allowing us to keep the good stuff.

Hmmm.... the way I am looking at this is here:
It follows the OGB universe, and is bound to OGB rules. The teams stem from OGB universe, therefore are not silly and are very serious. The only time when cartoon infringes is EGB.
