Base concepts for a fanfic I'm writing. Feasible?

It primarily stems from a pair of seperate threads on different GB concepts I've seen on the forums. The first was whether a person's soul or life force could be sucked into a trap, and also, the fusion of entities during the storage procedure.
This is where my mind started working (Something it seldom does.)
Since a vampire or other similar entity usually drains the soul or life essence from it's victim, it would have to be assumed that it would, to an extent, have to weaken the bonds between the body and soul.
At this specific moment, wouldn't it be possible, with the application of a trap, for the ghost to drag the soul into the trap with it?
And by extension, become fused during storage? (Since this only occurred during the RGB episode involving "Drool The Dog Faced Goblin", and not subsequently though, I would assume that Egon subsequently upgraded the traps, but we won't go there for fiction's sake.)

Included below is a sample first paragraph. I'm pretty happy with it, not speaking English as a first language, but would want to know whether my writing would cause readers to want to wash out their eyes with battery acid...

The night scene of the darkened street was a collage of stark blue moonlight and bottomless shadows. But one shadow did not stir with the night breeze like those of the trees that lined the roadside. Neither did it stand still like the long angular ones cast by the buildings. It crawled, quivered and slunk along the ground, while any light it crossed seemed to sink into it’s darkness, almost as if it were a breach torn in space. Yet this thing had a shape, an animated, creature like shape. As it passed, sounds could be heard; the scratching of claws upon pavement, the faint rustling of it’s breeze-blown, membranous wings wafting above the creature’s shoulders.
It had arms and legs, but seemed to move without them, crossing the street and mounting the front steps of one of the numerous houses that lined the road. In the light of the moon, its leering bulbous eyes glittered with malice, their own jaundiced glow seemingly emanating from a well of hatred deep within the creature’s black heart. It’s gnarled head protruded from hunched shoulders and wisps of rancid red breath wheezed in labored hisses through its rows of bloodstained fangs.
It gave a sharp laugh, the deep bellow of malevolence echoing down the empty street as it reared up upon it’s legs, it’s leathery jowls pulling back into a depraved grin. Lunging towards the door, the creature passed through like a spear through liquid, leaving nothing in its wake to ever suggest it had existed.

Yay! Someone new that has great potential that I can read. I am pretty tired of the same stories over and over with new monsters. Can't wait!
