I'm in the process of doing a large revision to the whole site (with particular attention paid to the Props and Fan Fiction sections). Please post your prop sectino enhancement requests either as replys to this post, emailed to me, or in the site suggestions forum.

It would also be nice if we could also send them in their original format, especially to those of us, apparantly me, who use Microsoft Word. I say this because the itallics in my story don't show up when posted.

I might say giving mods the power to get rid of unfair ratings would be nice...I've seen good fanfics trashed due to jerks who just give a 1 and post "crap."

I agree with that, MODs should be able to get rid of those low point posts where the person gives no reason for why they gave it. Plus, there should be a spot to put the animated fan fic stuff, like drawings. I'd like to have something like that. It'd help to get artists a name out there, and I think the fans would appreciate art from all the great artists on this site. Thanks!

Other people have said it before, and I'll say it again: Rating your own stuff is cheesy. That shouldn't be allowed. I also agree that being able to edit your own fics would be nice. I know I noticed a run on sentence in my fic when I reread it after a while without looking at it, and I was kinda embarassed. But oh well.
Other than that, things are just dandy. The forum is very nicely constructed.

Hey. 
Just want to put in another vote for being able to edit fics. I always check mine as thoroughly as I can but we're all prone to missing things.
This really is a great site (I'm not sucking up, I really think so). Please don't change it too drastically.

How about a new rating system all together. Why not like movies, go with 4 stars, etc.
If not that, more importantly, have some kind of new weighting system (like www.imdb.com) to allow only fan fics with a certain amount of votes to be in the top 10. Let's look at this, and we can see that users who give dumb ratings like that are usually trying to boost their own fan fic in that little top 10 area. This would most likely put a stop to some of that...

To keep the all of the special attributes to text that you make in Microsoft Word, Works, Processor, Appleworks, etc. save it as a .rtf file (Rich Text Format). That way it will look the same on any system, anywhere.

Uh, CaptainN, how do I submit my fan fic as a Rich Text Format? I saved my story as a rich text format and there's no way to submit it without copying and pasting. At least not that I know of.

Editing. Definitely editing. I go through my stuff several times before submitting and still find errors after posting from time to time.
Either allow the mods to delete ratings or, I dunno, make it like Olympic judging: throw out the best and worst ratings to calculate the average. It'd keep one person from screwing up a an average or pumping up his own story (meaning it'd take at least three ratings to count) He'd have to enlist buddies to help him, and a mod is more likely to notice that.

I think pretty soon we're going to need a new genre too: "Ghostbusters Comic Book".
I'm sure this has been mentioned before, but also a way for a writer to respond to the ratings without rating his own story (which is, indeed, cheesy).
And a double vote for editing power...I just saw my latest story, "Clinically Insane". The good news is that I know html tags do, indeed, work in fan fics. The bad news is that I made a couple of errors (mostly a couple of tags that weren't closed. Ooops)that I could fix in about a minute were I able to...
