On Winston's military history...
In the script for Ghostbusters Ray reads his resume and it says the following...
Very impressive resume. Electronic countermeasures, Strategic Air Command ... Black belt in Karate ... Small arms expert
But this scene was not used in the final movie, so it is not authoritative. Still, Winston's military service is bolstered by a comment in "Haunting of Heck House" where he mentions boot camp. Still, the fan community accepts his military career as a fact.
And to completely change directions, I've recently conjectured the following birthdates for the Extreme Ghostbusters characters, based on the birthdates of the voice actors, as found in the Internet Movie Data Base...
Roland Jackson: September 21, 1978
Garrett Miller: Jan 3, 1979
Kylie Griffin: Feb. 12, 1979
There is no date for Eduardo yet, as IMDB did not list a birthdate for Rino Romano.

I've tried to find that actor's birthday...and boy is it hard to find.

In the The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline... thread, missjanine brought up some background/Family info from the Ghostbusters Novelization that contradicted with the Canon Facts. But I've already thought up some briliant solutions to this, and here they are:
David Stantz was a doctor and Carolyn McMillan Stantz was a Housewife. Ray has an older brother, Carl who was in the USAF, stationed in the Middle East. He has a wife and 2 sons. Ray's younger sister Jean lives in California. She is divorced with a daughter. And you already know the other stuff about her, and I'd rather not bring that up right here... As for Ray's Siblings, the three of them were split up after Ray's Parents died in the auto accident when they were children in 1970. Ray was left the House he was born in, in the Bronx. This was because he was the favorite Child who they slightly spoiled (i.e. David Stantz always took him to Toad Island, and he and Carolyn never blamed Ray when he was bad or did poorly in school, and always encouraged him in his Comic Book reading.). Ray's Siblings were sent off to separate Foster Homes, and were so jealous and furious with Ray's special treatment and him getting their childhood home, none of them ever spoke to each other again. And of course, Ray was sent off to Morrisville to live with uncaring distant relatives, which we already know about...
As for Egon's Brother, I've heard of Elon Spengler, from the Earth Day Special (1990). He was Egon’s brother. Possibly his twin brother. See the link for details. EDIT: I wouldn't count this as being Canon, seeing as though it's just a vague GB reference.
"The Stiff”, Andre Wallance, is the Guy Dana marries and has Oscar with. Then of course, they divorce. But now, Oscar is Oscar Wallance. Boy, I feel sorry for him. A weird forename, and an even weirder surname.
Charlie Venkman (Peter’s Dad, duh! ) was born in Iowa, on the lot of a carnival at which his mother was a ticket-taker.
I'd like to thank missjanine. You've helped us a whole lot by pointing this out. 
If it's okay with you Guys, I'd like to add it to the revised Fact List (I'm nearing the end of editing, and this would be great to include.). So what do you think?
