[Black screen]
[Fade in, the lobby of an accounting office]
[The camera perspective is that of low too the floor, it follows the feet and footsteps of a nameless lawyer. As he walks by, the perspective shifts, moving around and circling over and around the reception desk where we see Janine, mundanely cleaning the tips of her fingernails with a nail file]
[The lawyer stops at the desk and looks at her]
JANINE
Can I help you with something?
LAWYER 1
Yes, I’m here for a meeting with your boss. Might he be in?
JANINE
I’m sorry, Mr. Tully cannot be seen at the moment…He’s…rather busy.
[Slight smirk]
LAWYER 1
I see… [Disappointed, slightly puzzled look] Well, could you give these papers too him? [Hands her a rather filled binder]
[Cut too: Tully’s office]
TULLY [On the phone]
Oh, ok. Yeah, that’s exactly it. Uh huh, well if you would quit gambling it off you wouldn’t be having these problems. Look, Mrs Anderson, you need too conserve your funds; you’re loosing more than you’re making. Your addicted, yeah I know that. Look, I’m going too give you a number too…a quack? No, a friend of mine, he runs a…yeah, a support group…Well-
[Cut back out too the lobby]
JANINE
Certainly, I’m sure he’ll be grateful.
LAWYER 1
He'll be grateful of a tax-return? I doubt that. [Casually walks away]
JANINE [Yelling out]
It keeps him fed you know! Men…
