Ghostbusters Fan Fic Awards

i was just watching TV and was inspired by all of the award shows that have been going on lately and was wondering if anyone would like to help exand with this idea. I know there are a lot of Fan Fics out there, some good, others great. And I was thnking about haveing a Fan Fic Awards. I would set up categories such:
Best Overall Story
Best Ghostbusters Story
Best Real Ghostbusters Story
Best Extreme Ghostbusters Story
Best Ghostbusters Crossover
Best Plot
Best Sub-Plot
Best Character
Best Original Character
Best Character based on Another Medium
Best Supporting Character
Best Editing
Best Scene
and other Categories to come. Just like the Oscars or any other Award show, you must submit a section of your story and for what Catagory. But if you have any suggestions or would like to help me expand on this, please reply or cantact me, thanks.

good idea; I'm surprised this hasn't come up yet. One question though, where would us would-be writers submit this too?

You would submit it to me, and then from there I will submit it the Judges who will remain nameless. but first I'd have to pick judges  but for now you'd send it to me, but it has to be a fan fic that is up on GBN.

Yes, sorry to say there will be a limit. A person will be limited to submitting only two of their Fan Fics. I will also have 5 nomanies in each catagory. So if you're interested in any of those catagories, please start emailing them to me, a web site will come up later saying who the nomanies are. So when you submit somehting, have the catagory and then undernieth that have a segment that would go with the catagory. For Best Plot & Sub-Plot I'll just the the premises. but for Best overall story, I'll need your whole story. Thanks.

There is only one thing I would change, I don't think people should be able to submit work, I think they should be nominated by a 3rd party.

Well I think that it should be submitted just like the Oscars or Golden Globes, where people submit their own work under what Category. It would be a great time saver, and just beecaause you submit something doens't mean you'll be nominated.

I'm ready to accept any Fan Fics for the Fan Fic awards. The Nomanies will be announced in the next 3-6 weeks, while the winner will be announced in about 8 weeks. So when you submit your fan fics to me at brendan_mertens@hotmail.com just have the category you want to enter, the story and then a section of the story for that category. But for Plot, Sub Plot just write the premise for it. But for Best Story I'll just need to know the title of your Story myself and the judges can review it. Also, I will be accepting applications if you would like to be a judge.

I get it now, basically, you can submit two entries into every catagory...
If you choose Best Plot then you type a plot summary up and send it.
If you choose best character, you choose a paragraph in the fic that describes the character well, you then submit that!

I think it should be up to a third party to nominate the fics but with the author's permission first...But do you think Vincent Belmont should approve of this first?

Brendan, I co ran the GB AWARDS with Daryl and Ron this last year. Perhaps a good approach to come up with nominees would allow members to nominate them. Then the winners could be picked throught voting or you could assemble judges. If you have any questions about running an awards committee feel free to contact me.

Alright, I'm going to go with the Third Party Idea. You can nominate two people for each category and you can nominate yourself if you wish. I will, maybe with some one (Tex I'm looking at you) could go through and then narrow the monanies down from 3-5 nomanies for each Category? WOuld this be alright with everyone?
