ToyGeek (Mike)-
It was me that asked who you worked for. I'm an action figure enthusiast, who is trying to break in to the industry. I'm 25, and I have been doing sculpture for over 10 years. I recently finished a project where I "Re-imagined" what the RGB line would look like if it were produced today from the old Kenner molds as a promotion to celebrate the movies 20th aniversary. I will post pics here as soon as I finish the Fire House and the Ecto-1 and Ecto-1A.

myersfarms - That's really cool, man. I wish I had the slightest bit of artistic ability. If you're looking to "break in" to the industry, I might suggest checking out a couple places like Palisades or Plan B toys. Those are the first two that come to mind that don't have an "in-house" sculpting staff. I know Palisades has guidelines on their site about how to get them samples...they're always looking for good stuff. Especially with a some of the stuff they've got coming up. Hell, one of their upcoming statue lines is DEFINATELY more than meets the eye.
Heh...
Proton - Likewise on the "sorry if I sounded like an ass back there" apology. I just got to the point where I was hearing the same thing over and over. One of those things, you know?
To answer your question...I don't know. I'll be honest, half of the information came from their actual licensing guy, the other half I got through the "yeah, I don't get this stuff either" filter of their product development guy. All I know for certain is that they wanted more than Palisades wanted to spend. I've got a couple theories as to WHY it was more than they wanted to spend, but nothing definate. I do know they WANTED to do the new comic likenesses, but couldn't because of the way the licenses are set up.
I hope that clears that up a bit.

I'm sorry, because this is going to sound rude, but...
That's not the point, please go back and re-read what was said before you completely ignore it anyway.

GBN is not an organization. We can't make toys. For one, without a liscense, it's copyright infringement. Two, a liscense is way out of our grasp, because face it, we're not a company, nor are we willing to pay thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of dollars for a liscense to make them. And please, next time, run your post through a spellchecker.

I agree, 88 MPH is a very small company and couldn't afford to purchase the liscense for toys.

HELLO?!?! Is this thing on?
Nobody said they couldn't afford it. Sony controls that aspect of things, and apprantly Sony hasn't opened it up yet. It's not a matter of "not being able to afford it", so let's not make things up, okay?
