i've always hated baby dolls ....the ones with the closing eyes , they bug the hell out of me , whenever i'm around one in the dark i always assume that the eyes are just going to pop open , so i stare at them to make sure they don't .....beerstud has stopped me many times at his house , his little sister has one that sits in a chair by the door ,i'll just stand there staring at it . one of these days i'm going to take that damn thing out in the woods with my shotgun and blow it's evil head off it's shoulders . ehhhhhh i really hate those things , they're evil !

Admitadly so... I saw one the other day in a museum where I was doing some work, it was one of those old ones with the elastic connections between limbs... it's hair was faided to it just had the plastic impression, and it's eyes... oh god... it was horrible! I see what you mean...

PS \I do not ACTUALLY believe these dolls to be evil in the paranormal sense...

PPS But hey, if you can get possessed TVs, boxes and such, why not a doll?

What is the Annabelle the Haunted Doll case?

Is this like the self-motivated dummy in Twilight Zone or the clown doll in Poltergeist, or Chucky? If so, then I don't want to know it.

Otherwise, tell me all about it, please.

Annabelle-Twilight Zone's The Living Doll
But if you're talking about reading a true story, you might mean Arabella or something like that. It's on Castle Of Spirits.

They are referring to Annablelle the Haunted Doll, not Arbella. You can read about it on Shadow Weaver's site.

That's certainly an interesting story. Some parts of it I find believable, other parts of it seem a bit far-fetched, but then we're discussing the paranormal.

I don't know how much I believe it would levitate next to Ed when all the time prior to his ownership of the doll it would only move when by itself, the teleportation of objects stopped when he got it--however, I totally believe in the doll's moving when alone, and I believe in the objects such as the small statue falling or pictures on the wall moving, and even the explosion of the boar's tooth necklace.

What's always intrigued me about the Warrens is that they end up on all these wonderful cases, yet there isn't much about them to be seen.

If they can do a series about that guy who talks to dead folks on SciFi, certainly there could be a show surrounding the Warrens. I'm sure they have plenty to show, and I should hope photographs, testimonials of experients, video, EVPs...

At any rate, I'm torn on this story as to how much I believe it or not. It does kind of turn into a "Clown Doll from Poltergeist" where the doll itself is not possessed but rather the force behind it just moves it, not unlike a person would.

Giving recognition to demonic forces is one thing, I'm sure, but it's totally different to acknowledge apparitions.

Apparitions can sometimes be set free by acknowledgement, or by discovering what their 'purpose' is, or by telling them they're dead and go on to the other side.

Demons on the other hand are spiritual beings, but just as real as you and I are. They are everywhere all the time anyways, and it seems weird that Ed would think one should have to give it permission to be in your life for it to take effect.

On a personal note, I've also always had a problem with everyone turning to Catholicism for and exorcism. Regardless of CHRISTIAN denomination, God and Christ will always have the same constant powers, so any of the major Christian denominations should be available for such acts. However, I'm sure it would be depending on the strength of faith of the performer of the Rites of Exorcism.

Definitely an interesting case, and certainly deserving of conversation!

I saw an X-Files ep where this doll made people gauge out their eyes. Now that was creepy. They filmed parts of that ep in Port Coquitlam,BC, Canada. I used to live there.

i don't know if this is lajit, i got it off the net)

Somewhere in Nevada....

When I was about 12, my mother took a class on making porcelain dolls. She made the prettiest one, white skin, curly hair (like Shirley Temple), and beautiful brown eyes. After my mother brought that wretch into my house, I knew that it was bad.

One night my brother and I were sitting in the living room (where the doll was placed) watching t.v. We heard some weird noise, and we looked over to where to doll was placed, and she had done a complete 180 degree turn on her stand. She was staring directly at us. Her eyes had turned to a deep black, looking as though her eyes had been gouged out. I screamed. My brother ran over to the doll, grabbed her as fast as he could, and threw her in the hall closet. That was not the end of our terror that night. She decided to come taunt us again with her antics. She somehow had gotten out of the closet (without the stand, and note: no one else was home). We heard that same sound, and looked into the hall where it came from and saw her standing there without her stand with the same black gouged out eyes. I started crying so hard that my vision blurred. My brother started saying "Holy Sh*t!" over and over again. I walked up to her with a blanket and threw it over her to cover her up and take her away. When my mother returned that night we told her what had happened. Of course, she didn't believe us. So we decided to show her. I went and got the doll out of her hiding place (luckily she was still there!!), and placed her in the closet, stand and all. And waited and watching t.v. All three of us heard that same eerie sound, and turned around to face the closet. My
mother started to run towards her, and I screamed "NO!" and grabbed my mother's arm. That was the last time I saw that wretch. We took her out and broke her and burned her until there was nothing left.

well there are some explanashne
1, the girl chould of over exsachareted
2,the brother could of ben jokeing and it gt too out of hand
3,agian the girl could of halusanted

but where do u get porcelain at anyways?

Baby dolls scare me. My wife has a room full of them. The scary ones that are made of ceramic. She even has some that are made by Marie Osmond! Egads! How much scarrier can it get? She also has this one that is dressed in a wedding gown. That one keeps moving around. Not on its own. I do it. It reminds me of that ghost in the haunted mansion at Disney World that's wearing the wedding gown and you can see her heart beating through her chest!
