Reminds me of a story I read in a book about a haunted house and a chest. Everyone who had placed objects in the chest died. The curse was supposedly broken by two women, one who currently owned it and her friend a black woman who knew voodoo. However the one of the people involved in removing the curse would have to die. If I remember right, the black lady died.
