Can someone tell me of some respected books and web-sites that talk about hauntings in the U.S.A (mostly in California).
THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!

The Shadowlands ussed to be pretty good with information, but that was a while ago, i dont know if it is still there or as good as it used to be.
Sorry, i wish i could help more, but i mainly know about ghosts in VA and where to get that info. Try the big book of the Unexplained, or something like that.

Lloyd M. Auerbach, "ESP Hauntings and Poltergeists: A Parapsycholgist's Handbook."
D. Scott Rogo, "The Haunted House Handbook."
Gale Research, The Encyclopedia of Occultism and Parapsychology.
Shadowlands is a great site, still!
Do an online search for Haunted California and it'll get you closer and quicker to online links that you're looking for.

Gale Research, is wonderful. You may also want to try THE TYRAD COMPANY out of St Paul, MN, they have a large selection of 0ccult books, on all topics, among which are spirits, ghosts and various stages of life after the transition to the great beyond. Book by turn of the century American and British spiritualists may be of service to you.

"and various stages of life after the transition to the great beyond."
I always wondered who writes THOSE books, and if they write them by experience--or how they know that information.

Well there's AP (people do use it to travel to other dimensions, including to, visit the realms of departed souls). NDE's, which doctors confirm the person was actually dead, for a space of time. Those who return to this plane from NDE's give us glimpses of what the afterlife is like. Mediums, who have real abilities, have brought through spectors, that were confirmed to have been deceased humans, these transformed persons, then told them about "life" on the other side. Then there's 0uija boards,Spirit boards, Crystal balls, and a host of other devices we can use to communicate, thus gain insight, as to what life, after life, on planet earth is really all about. I come here to watch neato cartoons and read crappy fanfics but, I'm also a true believer and a genuine occultist.
