What do you guys think is the scariest episode? I think it is Something is Going Around because the real ghostbusters become allergic to ghosts and the world could end.

it wouldve had to have been the boogie man episodes mixed with the sam hein (mr.pumpkin head) halloween episodes. those ones made "some" "younger" kids belive in alot of myths & legends that were obviously just in there/peoples minds. those episodes were a part of the reason that the show was cancelled.
sad
im gone.

One where chips turned the busters into Ghosts, and one where this kid was turning into a zombie

Heh, this is going to sound kinda weird...but the scariest episode for me back when I was a wee lad was "Mrs. Rogers Neighborhood." Peter getting possessed was the worst thing that ever happened to me...and that hairdo that the spirit made him have...*shudder*... yeah, that one always gave me the creeps. I watched it not too long ago on this website and it didn't have the same effect thankfully smile. The boogieman was scary too.

Dont know if it was all that scary, I mean I saw it when I was like 5 or 6, but one of the Haloween ones, it may have been more of a "whoa"...
When Sam Haine covers the firehouse (could be another building) with..well, ghosts all the spirit essence swirling around the building, and it was covered in rot/slime...very...something :p

I would most definitely say that its a tie between "The Boogieman Cometh" starring (of course) the Boogieman & "When Halloween Was Forever" starring Samhaine(a.k.a "Pumpkin Head"). I can remember those two episodes like it was just yesterday. They had me shaking in my jammies on the Saturday mornings they primiered. And what was even more terrifying....they both came back for a second helping!normal

Isn't this kind of like saying "what is scarier? The happy little bunny or Winnie The Pooh?"

Definatly winnie the pooh! Anyway, I thought it was kind of scary the first time i saw the first episode with Mr. Staypuft. Before then, i'd only seen the ones where he was good. It was kinda creepy seeing him evil.

I would have to say Follow That Hearse scared me the most. It was that part the old man showed up on the monitor in the Fire Hall. However, I am proud to say I don't find any childrens cartoons scary anymore!

Hey I think RGB did a decent job of scaring people! None of us (well, most of us...) don't find them scary now, but then again nothing on tv or movies scares me anymore (I laugh most of the way through every horror movie I watch, they're so darn stupid).

Oh nuts I forget its name (I should know it), but yes the 'healthy potato chip' episode was really one of the more frightning ones. And for several reasons; the doctor that turns out to be a ghost was a real devil/hellish looking thing (believe one of the best and scariest monster devised for the show), and our heroes being turned into monsters was quite frightning (even if they were turning plaid...).

Boogieman was decent too. Another sort of hellish looking thing in drag (heck when you say it like that it really does scare me). I think the reason that episode had such an effect was the portals he could create from inside children's bedrooms, with him coming out and freakish light everywhere was quite something. What I always find interesting about that episode it in a weird way it shows Egon's character by having him not react; he tells everyone he was nearly traumatized by the Boogieman, but then he goes with the guys to fight it without ever letting the Boogieman get to him. Quite inspirational when you think about it...

I saw "The Boogieman Cometh" when I was 5 or 6, and it gave me nightmares well into my teens.
