Iwas watching my DVDs yesterday and noticed something: The "Ghostbusters" theme is different in Ghostbusters 2. It has a more distinct horn sound to it as compared to song heard in GB1 and on the soundtrack. So did they re record the song, or is there another variation of the GB theme out there?

Maybe they did re-record it, because of Huey's lawsuit, or they wanted a new style of the song for the late 80's.

They don’t just call them The Real Ghostbusters for no reason! Take a look at Take Two, Citizen Ghost, The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline, THE GHOSTBUSTERS FACT LIST, and RGB Truly Canon with the Movies?, and you’ll see why!

I think it may be just us hearing things, but I know what you're talking about. In the first movie and in the soundtrack, the bass synthesizer sounds to be a lot more prominent in the mix than the second movie. May have to do with the difference in background noise going on. Even by 1989, that synth bass line sounds really dated so they may have turned it down a bit (like Doc said) but I don't think another version exists(available anywhere to us anyway)
Anyone else notice in GB2, the music when Peter catches Oscar falling after Vigo drops him sounds like the music in first movie when Peter says "to go into business for ourselves"?

Has anyone heard the techno remix of Ghostbusters? Its so lame its hilarious. It sounds like the sort of song you'd hear on one of those keyboards they make for little kids. Its on Kazaa, thats where I got mine.

Yeah I heard the techno version, not the worst thing I heard I'm afraid. Ther's this all girl band that made some sort of Spicegirls song out of it. Now that's awful! And ther's also a punk version circeling around. And I guess there are many more, but I only know of these three remixes.

I asked this along time ago, and I think someone dismissed what I said and mentioned the rap theme. But yeah when they pull up at the beginning you can tell that there is a difference. Although it doesnt seem like it sounds like its changed cause of the Huey Lewis suit, because it still sounds almost exactly the same.
