Does anyone know if the Ecto at Universal in Florida is the real Ecto?
I was told this a couple of years ago by a staff member as I was watching the parade and the GB's came out with Ecto and of course being told this I totally went bonkers and got tons of photos with me and the car as it went down the street! I LOVE that car!!
I remember when Fugi film was having a contest to win Ecto-2. I would just daydream about driving it to school (was in high school at the time). Course I would also daydream about the guys pulling up and saying like "we need ya to help with this bust tonight. come on!"

They used to use a replica of the Ecto-1 since the opening of the park, but Universal recently acquired the Ecto-1A.

I saw Ecto-1A at Universal when I went there 3 weeks ago. They use it for the Beetlejuice vs. Extreme Ghostbusters show. The EGB are not the ones from the show. They are doing a franchise operation and Beetlejuice turns them into a boy band. It is a really funny show.

i'm still pissed that they took down the GB ride/show and replaced it with Twister! They could've put that somewhere else! >:/

The Ghostbusters Ride, was just a show. It changed twice.
The first time, once you sit down, a woman guide walks around the roof top set of Gozor's chamber. As see speeks the doors open and Gozor walked out and asks the guide, "Are you a God?" and begins shooting at her. Then ghosts appeared every were and she runs to a phone off the side of the set and calls Universal security.
As Gozor watches on as the ghosts chase the guide around the stage, the guys show up and beging busting all the ghosts and start going after Gozor. After a good stunt show of flips and running around a beam surrounds the guide and follows Gozor back through the champer door. Then Gozor tells the guys, "Choose the form of the distructor!"
A thumping noise is heard and a giant Stay Puff head appears on the right side of the stage. The guys cross the streams and fog fills the stage. Then Peter walks out of the smoke the the guide in his arms.
When they changed it, Louise invites everyone inside and shows everyone around. He gets a few volenteers to help with slime, a proton back that shoots water. Then he takes everyone to the stage. Everyone sits down and begins talking about the containment unit.
Suddenly Walter Peck enters with a court order to shut down the containment unit. He turns in off and next to the containment unit is three lite signs one "Light Is Green" "Oh No" in yellow and "Kiss Your Butt Goodbye!" in red.
When the sign turns red, a door opens and Peck walks in, as the door slams behind him. Then Gozor walks out of the champer doors. Then during the battle with the ghosts, Louise graps a neon color proton back and helps the guys out.
Voice of the guys where from the RGB episodes.
There was also a street show were the guys come and bust Beetlejuice
I have the shows on tape somewhere.
I miss the Ghostbuster show at Universal.
Sorry that took to long, but to answer the question was Ecto really and Universal. I have a friend that works down there and she told me, it's not the real one. To change the subject. The Back to the Future DeLorean in a real one. 1 of 7 that where used.

Now I've got a question about Univesal here for a second. The last time I was down there about 2 years ago, I saw Ecto in the back lot. It wasn't Ecto 1A.
The one I saw had the EGB logo on the yellow tubes on the top of the car. And when I saw the Ghosbusters they had weird looking guns. Not proton packs or anything from EGB, just long black and clear guns?!?
Has anyone been to Universal in the last few months and seen the Ghosbusters walking around, and if so did the have proton packs or those weird black guns I was talking about?

The weird guns and all that you asked about....are a part of the new, more "extreme" show where they sing and dance to gay music...

No. It is not the real Ecto-1.
They susposedly do have the Ecto-1a now, but have no real confirmation.

hi am not shore the commantry for gb1 says it broke down on the bridge shot .
but dont they keep them for later use ?
i want to know where they keep the props rg proten packs ?
