Personnaly, until they bring him in the real world like it appened in one episode, I dont think the ghostbusters has a chance. Freddy is the Sandman. Freddy rule the dreamworld. You can do anything you want to kill him, its actualy only a mirage since Freddy *control* the dreamworld.
 But, like we saw, freddy is just a product from hollywood. Now did he realy die after Craven's nightmare? The story dont tell...

The Ghostbusters would win. They beat the Sandman and they could beat Freddy. They just couldn't fall asleep while on the verge of catching him. It would be a challenge but so was busting Vigo and Zuul and they were on the brink of world domination or destruction. So they could beat Freddy.

Of course they could beat him! As long as they used the same methods they used to bust the Sandman.
And they'd have to remember one more important thing: Don't look at him. He's ugly! He's Elephant Man ugly! He's Pizza the Hutt ugly!

If it wasnt becose of Janine, the Sandman would have won this.
You know what? If it is made for the Ghostbusters fans, the GB would win. If it is made for the Nightmares on Elm street fans, Freddy would win.
Realy, that'll be a funny thing to see.

Come on Freddy isn't god like they could easily go to the original house find the energy source that he thrives off of and bring his crisp a$$ into the real world. Freddy is nothing like the sandman though, he can't put people to sleep only attack them in their sleep.
